Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 9, 2026

AdPacer ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that displays budget pacing indicators within the Google Ads interface. This privacy policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is processed, and your rights as a user.

Summary: AdPacer processes all data locally in your browser. It does not collect personal information, does not send data to external servers, and does not track you in any way.

1. What Data We Access

The Extension reads the following data that is already visible on your Google Ads screen:

This data is read directly from the HTML of the Google Ads page that you are viewing. The Extension does not access the Google Ads API, does not require authentication, and cannot see any data that is not already displayed on your screen.

2. What Data We Do NOT Collect

3. How Data Is Processed

All data processing happens entirely within your browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage API. Specifically:

No data is transmitted to any external server, API, or third-party service. The Extension makes zero network requests.

4. Third-Party Services

AdPacer does not integrate with, send data to, or receive data from any third-party services. There are no analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs embedded in the Extension.

5. Data Retention

Pacing data stored in chrome.storage.local is overwritten each time you visit Google Ads and the campaign table is detected. There is no historical data accumulation. All stored data can be permanently deleted by uninstalling the Extension.

6. Permissions Explained

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each with a specific purpose:

Permission Why It's Needed
host_permissions: ads.google.com To inject the content script that reads the campaign table and adds pacing overlays. The Extension only runs on Google Ads pages.
storage To save pacing data locally (for notifications) and user preferences (notification settings).
notifications To send browser notifications when a campaign exceeds the user-configured pacing threshold.
alarms To schedule periodic checks (every 30 minutes) that evaluate stored pacing data and trigger alerts if needed.

7. User Rights

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Google Ads is a business tool that requires a Google account, which has its own age requirements.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the Extension's update notes in the Chrome Web Store.
